Meet Louis & Simba – A Loving Bonded Pair of Alexandrine Parrots! 🦜💚

Hello! We are Louis (male) and Simba (female), a deeply bonded pair of Alexandrine parrots around 8–9 years old. We are very much in love—we make sweet kissing sounds, wolf whistle to each other, and always stick together!

Simba plucks her feathers, but that doesn’t bother Louis one bit—he still thinks she’s beautiful (and so does our safehouse family!).

Our Personality & Habits

🏡 We’ve settled in well and have grown much more confident and relaxed with our safehouse humans.
👀 We love watching the world go by from our favorite perch on top of our cage.
🦜 We’re great flyers! Sometimes we’ll take a spin around the room before making our way back, or we’ll step up onto our human’s hand for a lift home—if we’re in the mood!
🍽️ Hand-fed treats are our favorite! We love carrots, nuts, crackers, cooked rice, beetroot, grapes, celery, lettuce, corn kernels, and spinach. But be careful—only hand-feed us our favorites, or we might give a little nibble to show our displeasure!
🖐️ We’re still a bit hand-shy and don’t like to be touched. If you get too close, we may nip—but don’t worry, we never do it hard! (Although Simba does let our safehouse mum sneak a kiss now and then. 😉)
🎶 We love sounds! We imitate motorbikes, phone beeps, and sometimes Louis even bobs his head to music—which is very funny to watch!
🎁 We’re big chewers! Give us toys and cardboard to keep us busy.

Our Ideal Home

🏡 A loving, patient home that will respect our space and allow us to keep building trust.
🐦 We must stay together—we’re inseparable!
🐱 We currently live with a cat (Mr. Bigglesworth!) and don’t mind him at all.
⏳ We’re fine being left alone for short periods since we always have each other for company.
