Meet Chester & Shamus Parrot

Meet Chester:

I’m Chester, a 17-year-old Scarlet Macaw with a passion for exploration. My dazzling red and blue feathers make me a real showstopper, don’t you think? I’m the more outgoing of the two, always ready for adventure and eager to spread my wings when the time comes. My pal Shamus is a Shamrock Macaw, almost 20 years old, and together we’re quite the pair!

Our Bond:

We’re more than just cage mates; Shamus and I are a bonded pair, and we thrive on each other’s company. We’re not particularly fond of being handled just yet, but once we’ve built a trusting relationship with you, we’ll let you pick us up and even accept food from your caring hands. Trust is key for us.

We love to show off our flying skills when we get the chance to stretch our wings outside our spacious cage, and we’re always up for a little adventure around the room.

Our Daily Life:

Our day mostly consists of exploring our large double cage, munching on delicious snacks like dried nuts, fruits, and seeds. We’re especially fond of fresh red grapes and cooked parsnips. Seamus is a bit of a clean freak and enjoys a bird bath a couple of times a week to stay fresh.

What We’re Looking For:

As a bonded pair, we come together as a package deal, so please don’t separate us—we’re inseparable! We’re not too picky about our human companions, and we’ve lived in both quiet and busy households. Personally, I, Chester, have a soft spot for ladies with long blond hair, and I often try to woo one such visitor to our home. 😏

We’re pretty chill around other animals and tend to ignore them, so no worries there.

If you’re an experienced parrot carer (especially if you have experience with macaws), have a large space in your home, and a heart full of love, we’d love to share our lively personalities and birdie antics with you. We can’t wait to find a new home where we can spread our wings and be the playful, colourful companions we know we can be!
