Meet Charlie & Tommy

Hey there!

I’m Charlie, a Bare-Eyed Cockatoo, and I live next to my long-time friend and neighbor Tommy, a Goffin Cockatoo. We’re quite the pair, and while Tommy has a little feather-plucking habit, he’s still absolutely gorgeous—and I love living next door to him!

Our Lifestyle & Needs

🐦 Free Spirits: We’re used to having free roam of a bird-safe room all day. Even when our safehouse mum is at work, we don’t have to be in cages—and we’d love to find a home with a similar setup. If that’s not possible, we’re happy to share your space, but you’d need to be with us all day to keep us out of trouble (because, let’s be honest, we have a fondness for chewing things we really shouldn’t!).

🍽️ Food Lovers: We’re on a seed diet, but we’ll eat fresh fruit and veggies—especially if they come off your plate! Mealtimes are so much better when shared with a Cockatoo (or two).

🎭 Unique Personalities:

• I love my mirror—it helps me with anger management when my temper flares up. (Yes, even Cockatoos need a little self-reflection!)

• Tommy is all about foot toys and shredding cardboard. Want to make his day? Hide some cashew nuts for him to forage—he loves a good treasure hunt!

What We’re Looking For

🏡 An Experienced Home: We’re Cockatoos—which means we can be unpredictable, bossy, and a little headstrong. We don’t like being told what to do, so we need a very experienced home with confident, knowledgeable people who won’t give up on us when we decide to assert our authority!

👫 The Right People:

• I prefer men and would love a strong male presence in the home.

• Tommy is more flexible—he’s good with both men and women, though he leans towards women.

• Ideally, we’d love a home with both a man and a woman who are home all day and ready to handle all the wonderful chaos we bring!
